SCHOLARSHIPS ANNOUNCEMENT. 

Applications are invited for qualified Tanzanians from the Public Service to apply for some special scholarships in the field of Agriculture, for those who are working in institutions of higher learning and research. The Commission of the African Union announced the 2013 Call for the Africa–India Fellowship Programme, tenable in reputable Indian Universities:-

1. “Capacity Building Masters Degree Scholarship” 
An applicant for Master’s Programme must meet the following minimum criteria:
a) Be under age of 35 years
b) Be a holder of a four year Bachelor’s Degree in respective field of Agriculture, at least Upper Second Class Honours.
 
2. “Special University Lecturers PhD Fellowship Programme” 
An applicant for PhD Fellowship Programme must meet the following minimum criteria:
a) Be under age of 45 years
b) Be a holder of a high quality Master’s Degree in respective field of Agriculture.
Note: The academic session commences in July, 2013. The Master’s programme is of two years whereas the PhD is a three year programme.  

HOW TO APPLY Interested candidates should complete the Application Form in PDF format as well as EXCEL Applicant’s Data Sheet, which are available on the Africa Union website www.au.int/nyerere

(i) Application letter
(ii) A recent passport-size photograph
(iii) Summarized CV indicating date of birth, nationality, work experience and names and contacts of three referees
(iv) Certified copies of university diplomas/degrees
(v) Photocopies of academic transcripts
(vi) Certified copies of the syllabus of courses covered in university/college attended
(vii) Brief description of applicant’s research project proposal with a maximum of 1000 words (only for PhD Candidates)
(viii) Two (2) Reference Letters with contact addresses
(ix)  Photocopy of the Data-Page of their Travel Passport
(x) Certificate of Proficiency in English Language
(xi) Certified copies of all documents should be accompanied with English translations.
 
HOW TO SEND Three sets of hard copies of the above documents must be sent by post to the address below;

In addition applicants must scan and produce electronic copies of all the above documents (convert to PDF FORMAT) ALONG WITH THE Application Form and EXCEL Applicant’s Data Sheet; and send to the following email addresses; mwalimunyerere@africa-union.org
